Here is a Bruinsball.com exclusive interview with Rivals 250 Offensive Guard,
Erik Bunte.
Tell us about your UCLA Junior Day experience. Erik Bunte: It was really awesome. I got to have a lot of contact with Coach Klemm and Coach Mora. I really liked the whole campus, and just being able to meet the new coaching staff was really interesting.
What did Coach Klemm and Coach Mora tell you? Erik Bunte: Coach Klemm was just building a solid foundation and talking about the same things Coach Mora was talking about. They were excited to have me come down more, and Coach Mora gave a speech how he knows UCLA has a title of being a soft team, but he doesn’t want a team that he is going to be coaching to be called soft. So, I know he’s going to be hard on them, like the Coach I have now, to give their best effort. I was just really impressed with the whole Junior Day.
Where does UCLA rank right now on you’re list of schools? Erik Bunte: UCLA is probably in my top 5 right now, if not my number 1.
Was their any point during the Junior Day when you were thinking about committing? Erik Bunte: There was no point where I was thinking about it, because whether or not I get more offers, I plan to stay humble and not commit until sometime around Signing Day next year. But if I do plan to make an early decision, it will not be until late in the summer.
Did you get a chance to see any of the new UCLA uniforms we have been hearing about? Erik Bunte: I actually did. They are coming out with some new uniforms; a couple of home designs. They are awesome! I can’t wait to see those come out next.
What did you like most that was not football related? Erik Bunte: The campus. The campus was just amazing. There are so many things I could tell about it. It was all really cool.
