UCLA earned a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Florida to force the if-necessary game on Sunday, but the fourth-seeded Gators jumped on the Bruins with nine runs in the first inning and went on to post an 11-3, five-inning victory that ended UCLA's season at the Florida Regional.

The Bruins finished with a 36-19 record, while the Gators advanced to Super Regionals to face 13-seeded Oregon next weekend.

The if-necessary game turned sour in a hurry for UCLA. Florida's first four runs scored on a two-run single by Megan Bush and a two-run error by the Bruins. A home run by Tiffany DeFelice with Cheyenne Coyle aboard extended the advantage to 6-0. Two batters later, Michelle Moultrie drove in a run with a single to right and Aja Paculba knocked home a pair with a single to right to make it 9-0.

Florida added two more in the fourth on a two-run homer by Coyle to make it 11-0.

GiOnna DiSalvatore and Jennifer Schroeder had two hits apiece in the second game. The Bruins had eight hits in their season finale.

Game 1 was a pitcher's duel between senior Donna Kerr and Florida's Stephanie Brombacher through four scoreless innings. UCLA scored a run in the fifth without the benefit of a hit before Florida scored two runs in the top of the sixth.

The Bruins came back to post their 14th comeback victory of the season. DiSalvatore, Andrea Harrison, Kellie Fox and Samantha Camuso singled to score a run
